La PMIEAT relève plusieurs irrégularités du Referendum constitutionnel au Tchad

Le coordonnateur de la  Plateforme des Médias Indépendants pour des Elections Apaisées au Tchad (PMIEAT), Allahondoum Juda a fait un point de presse ce 20 décembre 2023 au siège du Groupe Média Visionnaire. Au cours de cette  communication, il a relevé les irrégularités qui ont été constatées lors de ce scrutin.

Dans sa déclaration, le coordonnateur  de la PMIEAT, Allahondoum Juda a indiqué que la campagne référendaire du 25 novembre au 15 décembre 2023 et le scrutin du 17 décembre 2023 se sont déroulés dans le calme et dans la tranquillité.

Cependant,  il fait remarquer que la consultation référendaire n’a pas connu d’engouement souhaité. D’après lui, ce manque d’engouement sur l’ensemble du territoire national est lié à diverses raisons. Au rang desquelles, Allahondoum Juda souligne que la participation n’a pas atteint les proportions souhaitées. Par ailleurs,  il  renseigne que le délai accordé pour le retrait des cartes d’électeurs  étant très court, n’a pas permis à beaucoup d’électeurs de retirer leurs cartes. Et de poursuivre que des bureaux de vote ont été délocalisés sans que les électeurs n’en soient informés. « Dans certains bureaux de vote, dans la zone méridionale, les bulletins NON ne sont pas disposés ou en qualité insuffisante. A l’étranger, les bureaux de vote ne sont pas ouverts à temps», a-t-il ajouté.

Aussi, déplore-t-il le fait que, lors du déroulement de ce referendum, le droit des électeurs, notamment le secret de vote n’a pas été respecté dans tous les bureaux. « Certains éléments des forces de défense et de sécurité ont voté sous une pression, sans isoloir », a-t-il confié. En ce qui concerne la couverture médiatique, le coordonnateur de la  PMIEAT  a souligné que les médias privés ont été  ignorés par la CONOREC lors du scrutin au détriment des médias internationaux.

Ainsi, il déplore le fait que cette élection soit tenue, sans qu’un fonds ne soit alloué aux médias nationaux pour leur permettre de faire le travail dans la neutralité et assurer une couverture impartiale et complète de la campagne référendaire.

Par conséquent,  la PMIEAT attire l’attention de la CONOREC au sujet des irrégularités constatées et lui suggère de rectifier pour les prochaines. Pour le reste, la PMIEAT appelle la CONOREC à l’impartialité et à l’honnêteté dans la compilation des résultats afin d’éviter de replonger le Tchad dans une crise postélectorale. Enfin, la Plateforme demande à la CONOREC d’accorder de la considération aux médias privés qui,« au prix de moult sacrifices font un travail de qualité pour la consolidation de la paix et de la démocratie dans notre pays ».
