Mois saint de ramadan : Difficile  de trouver à manger en journée

En ce mois saint de ramadan, beaucoup de Tchadiens,  bien que non concernés, entrent aussi involontairement en jeûne, car il est très difficile de trouver à manger pendant le jour. La plupart de restaurants, de cafeterias, de coins de grillade de viande et bien d’autres lieux de gastronomie ne sont pas opérationnels en journée.

A seulement une semaine de ramadan, les effets se font fortement ressentir, sur la vie quotidienne des N’Djamenois, non concernés. Trouver à manger est un véritable problème. Du 1er au 10ème Arrondissements, en passant par d’autres arrondissements de la ville, les travailleurs et bien d’autres citoyens qui avaient l’habitude de se nourrir dans les différents coins se retrouvent eux-aussi, de manière involontaire, en jeûne. Les restaurants, les coins de grillade de viande, les petits carrefours et bien d’autres coins de gastronomie sont presque fermés, précisément en journée. Certains habitués se plaignent, comme c’est le cas d’Asdom William, fabricant de briques à la carrière au bord du fleuve Chari. «Nous ne savons que faire, depuis que le ramadan a débuté. Brahim, propriétaire du restaurant auquel on mange tous les jours, nous permettait de manger quelques fois en crédit, jusqu’à une semaine, avant tout acquittement. Mais, avec le carême, il ne travaille plus pendant le jour et ce n’est pas du tout facile pour nous. Nous ne faisons qu’atténuer pour un laps de temps juste avec tout ce qui tombe entre nos mains pour nous permettre de travailler et d’attendre nos clients », a-t-il déclaré.

Même son de cloche chez de nombreux travailleurs qui passent leur temps de pause dans ces coins. « Ce n’est pas facile. Depuis 5 jours, je ne  pars plus en pause, car, avec la fermeture des restaurants à proximité de mon bureau, je juge mieux de passer mon temps de pause avec les collègues musulmans sous les arbres à côté de mon bureau. Faire une longue distance pour chercher à manger a de répercussions immédiates : la chaleur et  la dépense en matière de carburant qui est devenu  très cher », a lancé un agent de l’Etat travaillant au Centre ville.

Couché à l’ombre, sous la véranda de son restaurant, Saleh Moumi, lâche sans ambages : « C’est le ramadan, en plus, il fait très chaud, nous avons besoin de nous reposer pour mieux résister. Nous ne travaillons que le soir et c’est ainsi chaque année ».

Ce constat est le même dans plusieurs quartiers visités. Comme quoi, en période de ramadan, on peut avoir de l’argent, mais sans trouver à manger. Toutefois, cela permet aussi à plusieurs époux de manger normalement le plat de leur épouse, puisqu’ils rentrent tout affamés.
