Le Tchad a commémoré la journée mondiale de lutte contre la traite des personnes

Le Tchad à l’instar des autres pays du monde, commémore, en différé, la journée mondiale de la lutte contre la traite des personnes depuis le 30 juillet 2022. Hier, jeudi 4 août, le ministère de la Justice et des Droits humains, en accord avec l’Office des Nations Unies contre la drogue et le crime (ONUDC) et l’Organisation internationale pour les migrations (OIM) a organisé une conférence débat au CEFOD, autours de diverses thématiques, liées au thème général de cette journée.

Cette journée, faut-il le rappeler, est instituée le 30 juillet 2013 par l’Assemblée générale des Nations Unies, aux fins de réagir face au fléau que représente la traite des personnes. Le thème retenu pour cette année est « utilisation et abus de la technologie ». C’est autour de ce thème que, le ministère de la justice et ses partenaires, notamment, l’ONUDC et l’OIM ont échangé avec le public, au cours de la conférence débat tenue pour la cause.

Dans ses mots d’ouverture des travaux, le Directeur de la législation et de suivi des accords du ministère de la justice et des droits humains, par ailleurs, Président du comité technique multisectoriel de lutte contre la traite des personnes, M. Rotta Dingammadji Carlos a reconnu les efforts des partenaires techniques et financiers aux côtés du gouvernement tchadien dans la lutte contre toute traite dont les êtres humains sont victimes. Pour lui, cette journée a sa raison d’être, du fait que, la traite des personnes est devenue ces derniers temps un  sujet qui préoccupe beaucoup de pays d’Afrique et cela constitue une violation des droit humains. Parlant du thème choisi pour cette année, il a justifié qu’avec l’évolution de la technologie, le phénomène de la traite des personnes devient plus facile et très fréquent au Tchad. C’est pourquoi, dit-il, ce thème doit interpeller tous les acteurs sociopolitiques et le peuple tchadien en général à demeurer vigilants et à œuvre davantage, ensemble avec le gouvernement, pour barrer  la route à ce fléau.

Après l’ouverture des travaux, un court métrage sur la traite des personnes, titré « Affeted for life » a été visualisé par l’assistance. S’en sont suivi des échanges des panélistes avec l’auditoire sur divers sous thèmes.  Il s’agit d’abord de « l’utilisation de la technologie dans le cadre de la traite des personnes », exposé par M. Libere Ntamashimikiro, juriste, chargé de la coopération judiciaire de l’ONUDC, basée à Dakar. Le deuxième sous thème présenté par M. François Xavier Ada, responsable de la communication et des politiques à l’OIM porte sur « la traite des personnes comme étant un des risques de la migration irrégulière ». Enfin,  le Directeur de la législation et de suivi des accords des ministères de la justice, M. Rotta Dingammadji Carlos s’est entretenu avec le public sur « le cadre législatif et institutionnel de lutte contre la traite des personnes au Tchad, un pas prometteur »

Vu les échanges et le film visualisé au cours de cette assise,  le ministère de tutelle, les partenaires et l’assistance s’engagent à lutter davantage contre la traite des personnes au Tchad.
